450 mm hypervelocity battery / FW–09
OPERATION 014
They are coming from behind the Moon.
From this control tower, you command Earth's last gun.
Select a radar return. Use the rangefinder to measure distance.
Match the shell to its hull. Compute and lay the intercept.
Wait for alignment. Fire the gun outside. Watch for impact.
You operate from a control tower beside the gun. The early warning radar tracks starships descending from the Moon's far side. Destroy all six before they breach the perimeter. Three breaches will collapse the defense network.
Acquire a track: click a radar return or a contact in the list, then press R to ping the laser rangefinder. Radar gives an approximate range; the laser gives a precise measurement. Computing a solution automatically requests a fresh return.
APFSDSArmored hulls. A tungsten penetrator with the fastest flight time.
PROX-HELight hulls. A proximity burst with the most forgiving aim.
EMP-IXShielded hulls. An ion pulse that collapses shields and disables the ship.
The firing loop: choose a contact → choose a shell → C compute → L lay → wait for alignment → Space fire. A fresh solution accounts for target motion, shell velocity, and gravity. Recompute after changing ammo or waiting too long.
Targets keep moving. The solution is a snapshot, not an automatic tracker. In the rangefinder view, the diamond shows the predicted intercept and the crosshair shows your gun. Manual trim uses WASD or the director controls.
A fictional, compressed simulation: time runs at 4×; orbital distances are represented schematically. Fire control uses a constant-velocity intercept with simplified gravity, not a full orbital model.
The operation is paused.
